If you’ve ever used an AI voice assistant like ChatGPT Advanced Voice Mode or Google’s Gemini Live, you’ll know these tools really push to have the last word.
In fact, just a couple of months ago, I used ChatGPT Advanced Voice Mode as a sous-chef in the kitchen, and I had to turn it off because I couldn’t cope with hearing, “let me know if you need anything”, one more time.
Considering that ChatGPT always wants to have the last word, it was only a matter of time before someone saw what happens when ChatGPT tries to have the last word, with, you guessed it, ChatGPT.
TechRadar’s Senior AI Editor, Graham Barlow, sent me a video this morning, and I’ve not been able to stop laughing since. It shows two iPhones communicating through ChatGPT, with both incapable of not responding to a goodbye message.
Every time you think the conversation is about to end, ChatGPT replies, prolonging the pointless chat and emphasizing just how annoying ChatGPT really is.
ChatGPT meet ChatGPT
This Instagram reel showcases the horror of living with two ChatGPT sessions open at once, and highlights just how frustrating it can be to use an AI chatbot.
Whether it’s always wanting the last word in a conversation, or always agreeing with you and changing its opinion on a whim to match your expectations, ChatGPT continues to showcase why it’s not quite as clever as OpenAI and Sam Altman would have you believe.
Obviously these issues aren’t exclusive to ChatGPT, in fact I’d suspect Gemini Live would have a very similar conversation with itself. Just remember next time you’re worried about AI taking over the world, it still can’t understand how to end a chat.
