Arsenal have a tradition of signing Brazilian players, and now they are being linked with another in the shape of Palmeiras forward Luighi.
Despite still being 18 years old, Luighi is highly rated in his native Brazil and is also on the radar of a number of top European clubs, with Southampton reported to be heavily interested as well.
He has a release clause which values him at ₤67 million, and the Gunners have already had an offer rejected for him (although for a considerably smaller sum than that).
Palmeiras do not want to lose him, and have tied him down to a deal that extends until 2028.
However, they have shown in the past that they are willing to sell their best young players if the price is right.
Whilst the Gunners may be ready to make a second revised bid, it remains to be seen if that is enough to persuade the Brazilian club to part with one of their prized assets.
