Bradford City, Oldham Athletic, Chesterfield, Salford City and Accrington Stanley matches frozen off

Bradford City’s League One clash against Rotherham United is the latest fixture to fall victim to the weather after a trio of League Two games and Salford City’s FA Cup tie at home to Swindon Town also succumbed to freezing conditions.

Referee Lee Swabey, who had been due to officiate the Bantams’ game, called it off on Saturday morning after inspecting the Valley Parade surface and ruling it unplayable.

That followed earlier postponements of the League Two fixtures at Accrington Stanley, Chesterfield and Oldham Athletic, all due to frozen pitches.

Accrington had been scheduled to host Barnet, with Colchester travelling to Chesterfield and Notts County to Oldham.

Meanwhile, despite sheets and heat lamps being used at Salford’s Peninsula Stadium, their third round tie against the Robins on Saturday will now take place on Tuesday, 20 January (19:45 GMT).

The Ammies’ League Two meeting with Grimsby Town will now have to be rearranged having been due to take place that evening.

New dates for the rearranged League Two fixtures will be announced in due course.
