Manchester City defender Jahmai Simpson-Pusey ready to ‘show talents’ on loan at Celtic

Jahmai Simpson-Pusey is ready to show his “talent” and his “levels” after joining Celtic on a season-long loan from Manchester City.

Numerous clubs targeted Simpson-Pusey this summer, but the 19-year-old’s first loan spell will be in Glasgow.

The England Under-18 international skippered City to victory in the 2024 FA Youth Cup final and was brought into the first-team fold by manager Pep Guardiola last season when injuries hit his senior ranks.

He made six senior appearances last term, starting in both the Premier League and Champions League.

However, he was not involved at first-team level from January and ended the campaign leading City to a Premier League 2 play-off final victory over Southampton.

“It’s such a big club and I’m happy to come here, play in front of the fans and play for the team,” Simpson-Pusey said.

“This is a big opportunity. I want to come here and show my talent and my levels.

“It’ll be good for me to come and hopefully help the team to win the league again and do well in Europe.”
