Arsenal winger Marquinhos could be set to spend the rest of the season on loan in his native Brazil with Cruzeiros.
The 21-year old has spent the past year with another Brazilian side, Fluminense, but they declined to exercise an option to make that move permanent
Something of a forgotten figure at the Emirates, Marquinhos joined the Gunners in the summer of 2022 from São Paolo, but failed to make a lasting impression at the Emirates, and subsequently had two uninspiring loan spells in the Championship with Norwich City, and in Ligue 1 with Nantes.
Despite him failing to realise some of his youthful promise, he was selected for the Brazil squad for the Olympics last summer, although that campaign ended in disappointment.
Arsenal will be hoping that he rediscovers his form during his latest assignment and that they can recoup eventually some of the ₤3.5 million that they paid for him,
