With the PC landscape ever expanding thanks to the release of new graphics cards, processors and any other component you can think of – it only makes sense for a steady stream of pre-built gaming desktops to hit the market – especially with the launch of Nvidia‘s RTX 5000 GPUs. Enter the Medion Erazer Hunter X30, a top-of-the-line desktop featuring components which will have you future-proofed for years to come while delivering immaculate performance.
While this PC does have a couple of pressure points, such as availability in other regions and how loud it can get at times, overall it is a stunning desktop which will easily blend in regardless of if you have a gamer setup or are hoping for a more office-friendly appearance.
Of course, with such a premium product comes a premium price point, coming in at £2,499.99 – so this is not the right rig for those who are budget-conscious. However, for those who are willing to spend more in order to achieve unparalleled 4K gaming performance with ray-tracing and Ultra graphics settings, then this could be the best gaming PC for you.

While the Medion Erazer Hunter X30 does come in at a premium price, it’s worth noting that you’re getting top of the line specifications in this machine. You could opt for a cheaper PC which will likely offer you similar performance, however one of the perks of the Medion Erazer Hunter X30 is that it’s entirely future-proofed, which will cost you less in the long run when it comes to upgrading or swapping out parts.
An alternative machine is the PCSpecialist Nexa 970 which would set you back £2,849 and also features the same GPU, making a strong case that this desktop is decent value for money even when compared to other premium options.
Right now you can pick up the Medion Erazer Hunter X30 in the UK at retailers like Currys, Laptops Direct and Box. There currently aren’t listings for the desktop in other regions just yet.

While there are multiple models of the Medion Erazer Hunter, the X30 edition, which we reviewed, comes with set specifications which are outlined below. Of course, as with any gaming PC, opening up the desktop in order to upgrade components is entirely possible, so fear not if you need more storage.

Medion Erazer Hunter X30: Design
Presented in a pretty sleek and stunning case, one of the perks of this desktop is that it can easily fit into any set up whether you’re hoping to achieve that gaming aesthetic or want something that will suit in an office environment.
Featuring a glass panel on the side, which has quickly become standard with gaming machines, you can easily see the interior which is neat and well organised but doesn’t particularly blow me away.
You get some RGB inside too including the RAM, graphics cards and case fans, making for a pretty glow without being too overkill.
You get a range of ports on both the front and back of the Medion Erazer Hunter X30. The front ports are located on the top of the machine, paired with the power button. This includes two USB-A ports as well as a USB-C port and two 3.5mm jacks. The back then hosts seven USB-A ports and a USB-C port, you also get all of the necessary additions like an ethernet port, three DP outputs and a HDMI output too.

Using the Medion Erazer Hunter X30 was definitely a step up from my custom PC that I use each day (which features an RTX 4080 GPU) – however it wasn’t as big a step as I was expecting. While this machine was able to give me immaculate 4K and 1080p performance, the frames weren’t significantly higher than my previous-gen machine.
However, this doesn’t discredit the performance I was getting (and if you have an RTX 4080-powered machine, you’re not going to be looking to upgrade to an RTX 5080 gaming PC anyway), with absolutely stunning visuals in story titles where quality is a priority down to pretty excessive frame rates in games where frames are of the utmost importance.
Booting up Cyberpunk 2077, a title known for being increasingly demanding, was like a dream with frame rates of almost 200 when using Ultra settings at 1080p. There wasn’t a single game I booted which got below 60fps, but of course this is to be expected from a machine this powerful – and expensive.
As with most gaming machines, it also doubles as a pretty mean productivity rig too. Whether you’re looking at editing and rendering videos or even something more demanding like rendering 3D videos, this PC will be able to handle anything you throw its way.
The system benefits from good ventilation, staying cool even when running some beefy AAA titles for long periods of time thanks to the Alphacool Eisbaer 240 water cooler inside. However, one downside here is that it doesn’t stay particularly quiet, with the fans bolstering up almost immediately when I boot up a game in 4K. Being fair, this is to be expected from a gaming PC and the machine did stay relatively quiet when using it for standard web browsing or other productivity tasks. Even when playing games which were less intense, like older or indie titles, I didn’t have to worry about the noise.

How I tested the Medion Erazer Hunter X30
I spent a week using the Medion Erazer Hunter X30 as my everyday desktop for work and leisure. I was sure to use the device all day for my typical work day, and then also used it for a range of gaming in the evenings. As well as using it every day I also benchmarked the PC using a range of different benchmarking software and within games which contain benchmarking software too. I used it with a range of different peripherals including monitors, keyboards and mice to ensure that the performance was stable throughout.
