Powerful storms swept across the state on Sunday night and early Monday morning, knocking out power to tens of thousands of people and causing downed trees, flooding and other damage.

North Minneapolis residents reported downed trees on social media.
There were also reports of lightning strikes causing fires. A trained spotter reported a house fire in Maple Grove, near the intersection of Maple Grove Parkway and Bass Lake Road.
Parts of Minnesota could be hit by more storms Monday. The National Weather Service reports more storms are possible in eastern South Dakota late Monday afternoon and are expected to move into southern Minnesota and northern Iowa.
Wind gusts higher than 75 mph, a few line-embedded tornadoes and instances of severe hail are also probable, according to the Storm Prediction Center.
