Earlier this month, Princess Eugenie and her husband, the businessman Jack Brooksbank, welcomed their third child together. The couple’s first daughter—who joins her two older brothers, five-year-old August Philip Hawke and three-year-old Ernest George Ronnie—was born on August 3, 2026, at 6.20 p.m., at a hospital in Lisbon (the family splits their time between Portugal and the UK). “The baby was born weighing six pounds nine ounces,” read the official announcement. “Their Majesties The King and Queen and other members of The Royal Family were delighted to be informed of the news.”
But now, Vogue can exclusively reveal that the newest member of the royal family has a name: Adelaide Elizabeth Annina Brooksbank. Adelaide becomes the 15th in line to the throne, behind her two older brothers. “Two weeks ago today we welcomed our girl to the world,” Princess Eugenie said, “and since then we’ve had the most special, cosy and love-filled time.”
The new addition to the family is “named after three people we love and admire past and present, including her great-grandmother, who we hold close in our hearts,” Eugenie continued. “Her name is part of English and Portuguese history, two places we love and call home. Augie and Ernie are already the best big brothers.”
