St. Paul police say Suni Lee statue was stolen

A statue of gymnast Suni Lee at Phalen Regional Park in St. Paul has been stolen, according to the city’s police department.

The St. Paul Police Department announced the news of the missing statue in a social media post on Thursday. It said the bronze bust, along with the rock with her nameplate, were taken within the last 24 hours.

The bust was unveiled in 2023 to honor the Olympic gold medalist, who is from St. Paul. It was designed by artist Seexeng Lee.

The police department says they are looking for the public’s help to find the artwork. Anyone with information can email sppd-eastinvestigations@stpaul.gov.
