Albert Adomah: Walsall winger targeting promotion after 700th EFL appearance

Albert Adomah says he is hoping his 700th EFL appearance is a milestone on the path to promotion with Walsall.

The much-travelled former Ghana international reached the landmark as a second-half substitute in the 1-1 draw against Shrewsbury last Saturday, on his 38th birthday.

He has now set his sights set on 800 matches before his career is over and admitted helping the Saddlers earn promotion to League One would be the perfect way to cap a remarkable career.

“Of course 800 would be another landmark but 700 EFL games is another milestone. I just have to keep on going and I must be doing something right,” Adomah told BBC WM.

“It’s nice for this 700 to fall on my birthday as well. It is another landmark and hopefully I can rack up more appearances as well in the EFL.”

It has been a season of milestones for Adomah, who scored his 100th career goal in September.
