“Its designation as a weapon of mass destruction is yet another effort by the United States government to create false pretexts to unleash acts of war against sovereign states in Latin America and the Caribbean, overthrow legitimate governments, and usurp the natural resources of other nations,” he stated in a post on the social network X.
He also denounced the U.S. government’s attempt to ignore the multifactorial origins of its use and the devastation it causes, as well as to cover up the malpractice of pharmaceutical corporations.
“The vast drug market in the United States, the indiscriminate prescription of opioids, amphetamines, and oxycodone; the limited and costly access to healthcare institutions; and other vulnerabilities are some of the realities faced by the citizens of that nation,” he added.

American billionaire Martha Stewart has become the latest celebrity to join Swansea City as a co-owner.
Stewart has followed close friend Snoop Dogg and AC Milan playmaker Luka Modric in becoming a minority owner of the South Wales football club.
The 84-year-old was in attendance as the Swans beat Wrexham 2-1 last Friday, having been invited to the game as a guest of the club.
The businesswoman built her wealth in the homemaking and lifestyle industry, becoming the USA’s first self-made female billionaire.
Swansea’s owners have previously made it clear that they want to raise the club’s profile in an attempt to generate greater revenue, which will then allow them to invest more money in the team under profit and sustainability rules.
A statement from the club on behalf of the ownership group said:
“We are delighted to confirm Martha, who has built a long and successful career as America’s leading homemaking and lifestyle expert, has followed Snoop and Luka Modric in becoming a minority owner of our football club.
“We are very excited to welcome Martha on board, and we know experiencing Friday night’s game in-person has only increased her own enthusiasm and anticipation for being part of Swansea City.”

Valdes stated that during the meeting, satisfaction was expressed regarding the development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Cuba, highlighting the close cooperation between the two countries in numerous areas, including the health sector.
It was also noted that the arrival of teams of Cuban specialists in Azerbaijan in 2020, as part of the measures aimed at preventing the widespread transmission of the Covid-19 pandemic, contributed to further strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
The parties also highlighted the importance of the “Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Public Health of the Republic of Cuba” signed during a visit by a Cuban Ministry of Health delegation to Baku in 2023.
This document contributes to strengthening bilateral relations in the development of health and medical science, as well as to the implementation of cooperation programs, the Cuban diplomat noted. During the meeting, they also exchanged views on other matters of mutual interest.
